Mickt Flior is an illustrator & designer based in the USA.

Her areas of expertise are advertising, design, and editorial/publishing. She loves creating visually striking projects that merge design and illustration.

Designer since 2016, Mickt worked as a UX designer for years before diving into illustration as a freelance, in 2023. Since then, she has been chosen for the Association Of Illustrators (AOI) 2023 mentorship scheme, was one of the winners of The Design Kids Awards 2024, and collaborated with notable clients such as Adobe, National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), Shein, and Walmart.

Originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Mickt holds a bachelor's degree in Digital Design from PUC-Rio and a master's degree in Graphic Design and User Experience Design from North Carolina State University. She's also spent a year studying Illustration and graphic design at the Savannah College for Art & Design (SCAD), in Savannah, GA.

“Mickt has been a pleasure to mentor, she brings an incredible sense of diligence and consideration to her work and her audience. I have the utmost confidence in her professionalism and would happily recommend her to any of my own clients. Her vibrant illustration work is balanced with her steady work ethic. I’m excited to see what comes next."

Winner of The Design Kids Awards 2024

I had the pleasure of being one of the winners of the 9th The Design Kids Awards, where top 10 industry leaders across the world picked the hottest talent A-Z going into 2024. Way to go, me!

“I was immediately struck by the visual excellence of Mickt’s portfolio when I first opened it. Mickt demonstrates her remarkable talent as an illustrator through the masterful use of vibrant and distinctive color combinations, textures that enhance details, and custom hand lettering with an abstract flair. Her skill oozes through as she infuses personality into various brands through her distinctive and eye-catching style. It’s truly impressive to witness a young designer who has not only discovered a style she seems to enjoy but also excels at it.”

Women of Type Residency Program 2024

I had the pleasure of being selected for the Women of Type Residency Program this spring, a one-month-long virtual residence dedicated to the creation of women-focused hand lettering work, sponsored by Paperlike.

During this program, I created experimental pieces that merge hand lettering and illustration, to uplift women and the general artistic community. I've used this opportunity to develop a more playful identity and explore ways to add volume and movement to custom-made letters using only 2D tools.
