For The Love of Kettlebells - Runner's World Magazine
Editorial/ Advertising Illustration
I was invited by Runner's World Magazine to illustrate an article about the power of training with kettlebells to improve your overall running performance. The article was published in the Fall of 2024, in print & digital forms.
The article was written by Mallory Creveling.

My objective was to create a graphic so eye-catching, that it would be almost impossible for the reader to ignore, thus inviting them to read the full article. The elements portrayed were thought and organized to quickly convey the main idea of the article: That runners and kettlebells can be best friends when it comes to training.
The images above show different phases of the digital illustration process. First, basic gray shapes, then, basic main colors. Finally, details and textures were added.
Initial ideas were hand-drawn in sketch form. The objective was to visually demonstrate a "team-like" relationship between the runner and the kettlebell.
